Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
Access to clean water remains one of the most urgent challenges in Mmanze. A solar-powered system exists, but it currently ends two kilometers short of the Mmanze Development Complex, leaving schools, churches, homes, and the health centre without reliable access.
To address this, we are working to:
Connect the system to the national power grid
Install a storage tank near the development complex
Extend two kilometers of transmission piping
Build distribution lines to key community locations
Reliable access to clean water would immediately improve public health, education, sanitation, and daily life for thousands.
Child Sponsorship Program
Many children in Mmanze face significant economic barriers to education. Our Child Sponsorship Program connects donors with students in need of school fees, uniforms, learning materials, and daily support.
Through this program, vulnerable children and orphans are able to remain in school and continue their education. Ongoing support allows us to expand this opportunity to more children each year.
Busaawa–Mmanze Health Centre
Established in 1994, the Busaawa–Mmanze Health Centre serves a population of nearly 100,000 people, many of whom would otherwise lack access to medical care. Due to high patient demand, the facility is in urgent need of renovation and expansion.
Services include:
Outpatient and inpatient care
HIV/AIDS testing and counseling
Maternity, antenatal, and postnatal care
Community outreach programs
Strengthening this centre improves not only individual health outcomes but the stability of the entire community.
Mmanze Community Secondary School
This school provides essential education to students from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including orphans. In addition to academics, the school offers uniforms, meals when available, and basic medical support.
It also extends its impact beyond students by equipping parents and guardians with practical skills in:
Sustainable agriculture
Community health practices
Savings and financial management
Environmental sanitation
Small business development
Education here does not only change individual lives. It creates long-term opportunity for entire families.
Holy Cross Namutenga Community Primary School
Despite its name, this is not an orphanage but a primary school serving vulnerable children, many of whom have been orphaned.
Approximately 120 children between the ages of four and twelve receive early education, care, and daily structure. The school provides a safe and supportive environment for children who would otherwise face significant hardship.
How Your Support Makes a Difference
Without a stable income source, every contribution directly sustains MACERUDET’s most essential work.
Your support helps to:
Expand access to clean water across the community
Provide education and resources for vulnerable children
Improve and expand healthcare services
Strengthen local schools and training programs
Support long-term community development initiatives
Every contribution, regardless of size, creates both immediate impact and lasting change in Mmanze.
